I'm watching zdf.kultur channel and they show reruns of "Hitparade" (a show like Top of the Pops) and I happened to zapp into two shows that have Trio (Bum Bum), Markus (Kleine Taschenlampe brenn), Peter Schilling (Die Wüste lebt), Ina Deter (Neue Männer braucht das Land) and now DÖF (Codo der Dritte)!!! ^_^ wheeee NDW nostalgia

EDIT
and you can find them on youtube )

Instructions:
* Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
* List (and upload, if you feel like it or are able to do so) 5 songs that start with that letter.
* Post them to your journal with these instructions.

Ok, finally time to do this. [livejournal.com profile] dragonaph gave me a S. Like [livejournal.com profile] chinawolf I decided to list some youtube links for the songs. At first I was like "S? Huh, I hope I find 5 songs I like with S" Then two imeadiately popped up in my head and while doing this meme now, the titles come flooding in from the depth of my brain :-) And now I'm like "5? Only 5? How to choose?" ^_^

Ok, here we go:

Nightwisch - Sleeping Sun , first to pop up in my head, kitschy hard rock ballads are my guilty pleasure :-)
The second one was Slahte Wille by Qntal, but I can't find it on youtube, so on to the next ...
Summer Wine Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood
Seemann Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen (Sie sprachen nur von deiner Mutterrrrr, so gnadenlos ist nur die Nacht - immer wieder geil ^_^)
One of the best concerts I've ever been to: 1995 on the Lorely - Mike & the Mechanics and to quote Mike "this is a song about spaceships" Silent Running
Last but not least Peter Fox and Schwarz zu Blau

I couldn't find Slahte Wille but I found out that you can listen to Sleeping on the bands myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/qntal/
And they are in Essen in October *bounce* I need to get a ticket!

Music purchased at the iTunes store is mp4 right? I hadn't a reason to buy from iTunes until now - they finally released the score from Sunshine, but only there. So, is there a way to convert music bought from iTunes to mp3 or directly to wav? Music is of no use to me if it can only be played on my computer.

Wheeee! Someone put Madame Tutli Putli on you tube part 1 and part 2. It was nominated for 'best animated short' at the last Academy Awards. I saw it on arte last year and loved it. It's a stop-motion film and a bit spooky :-)

I also bring you some old old video clips of Mike Oldfield songs ... [livejournal.com profile] jimaine42 already posted the one to "Innocent"

Moonlight Shadow )
I guess this will always be one of my favourite songs :-)

Tubular Bells 2003 )

OMG, this video ... no words ... so much crack Let there be light )

North Point )
Yeah, the 80s ... :-) let's have more of early video clip "art"...

Five Miles Out )
Trick of the light )
Wonderful Land )
Shine )
Islands (feat. Bonnie Tyler) )

I actually like this videos art - except he should have gotten a new haircut before filming. Ah well, it was 1991 and I guess everyone thought it was cool back then. Heaven's Open )

This is from the 2003 Tour(I saw it in Bonn). Pepsi Demacque, yes THAT Pepsi from Wham and Pepsi&Shriley, did a great job with all the songs. Especially "Family Man" (originally sung by Maggie Reilly) and "Shadow on the Wall" (Originally sung by Roger Chapman) were great.
Family Man - Live )
Shadow on the wall )
And the original clip with Roger Read more... )

And finally 9 min from the instrumental album "Platinum"
Platinum - Live '81 )

oh look [livejournal.com profile] jimaine42 this is an exellent clip from the actual drum duet we saw at the concert. We were at the second concert in Dusseldorf and that one was broadcasted to cinemas in the UK - so I bet it's taken from it Genesis Düsseldorf 2007. Watching the videos from the concert the day before I understand the reviews on the fan sites. The band was indeed more enthusiastic on the second one (YAY for us ^_^) just look at the rushed unmotivated Domino Principle

*sigh* I WANT A DVD FROM THAT BROADCASTING!!!!

Intro to our concert 27/7/2007

Summer is over. The weather wasn't summer-like for weeks. And Another sign for the summer to be over? Flipping through the tv programm and seeing that "The last night of the Proms" is broadcasted tonight :-) Always a nice pastime every year.
This year they have Anna Netrebko performing. I'm not much into opera and don't know much about her. But she did a great performance. I can't remember any performer having so much fun. Dancing over the the whole stage, giving roses to the audience and the orchestra ^_^
so excuse me, am back to sing along to very patriotic British songs and trying not to sing the German x-mas lyrics to Händels "Judas Makkabäus" ;-)

Sorry couldn't resist ;-)

Soooo you were faster [livejournal.com profile] jimaine42 with your entry. :-) But Not only did my train leave later than yours from Düsseldorf, it arrived late so that I missed the tram. I then had to choose between waiting at the station for 45 min or walk home (=30min). So I walked home ... since my account is empty and I have only 2 Euros left in my purse, so I couldn't take a cab.

Well, what were we doing this evening??? We were at the Genesis Re-union concert!!! YAY It was AMAZING!!!

we were two of those 'tiny people at the very back' )

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. (I skipped the ones with the title of the song in the first line.)
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING! ^_^

list under the cut )
