Broadcastr is a social media platform that enables the recording, organizing, listening, and sharing of audio content via a map-based interface. Just like in human memory, every story is bound to a place.

Wooaahhh WHAT?????
scans_daily is gone???!!!??? I've been away for a few days and my favorite timekiller has gone from LJ. Can anyone fill me in on the details? (Except that entry from otw-news)
Thid community made me add a lot more series to my subriscriptions. That damn buisness made a lot more money becuase of this "advertisment" place. And Again Mr Ellis and all the other artists who commented and posted on that community gained a lot of esteem in my eyes.
EDIT
You could never read full issues there, only some pages to show the most interesting (in the posters opinion) part or some slashy subtext stuff. Plus some members posted scans from really old comics from pre-WWII and WWII. Ecxerpts from foreign (non US or UK) comics etc. For me, apart from usuall fandom-interaction, it was a place to learn about comics and the fandom itself. And of course as a non-US citzen I could browse though the new issues before they were shipped here. In the times of "global-village" we still get non-digital stuff with the usuall old delay. It was a "shopping-aid"!
Uuhh, and don't get me started on the gender issue ... :-(

Israel and Germany
May. 7th, 2008 11:09 pmIt doesn't have to be like this. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking says Stephen Hawking in the Pink Floyd song Keep Talking. Something that came to my mind when I saw the report about this videoblog "Real Time Players". Young people from Israel and Germany show each other how they live. The text is unfortunately only in Hebrew and German. But if you scroll through the entries you can spot some videos with English subtitles.
EDIT: oh, and most comments are in English.
