squeeeeeeeeee
This year really is quite pleasing in regards of DVD releases that make my inner fangirl bouncing like mad. The German DVDs of The Tripods, the 80s tv version of The Little vampire and other tv gems from the 80s (e.g. Shaka Zulu and the many czech/slovacian fantasy series - all still on my whishlist, I need more money ^_^).
And today I found out that one of our big old tv stations (the ARD) has finally listened to the fans. After years of only Dutch DVD publications and one single DVD box they start publishing the big long-running sunday crime series on DVD! Yay! I can buy Tatort DVDs now!!!! And the first two episodes from the exceptional Team from Münster are announced for December ^_^
I also found out that the ZDF is already publishing Wilsberg, I do approve this very much ^_^ Very good written show.

Aug. 25th, 2009 11:16 pmJust poppin' in here to say how awsome True Blood is. They are doing a bit too many cliffhangers for my taste but the stories and the characters are awesome.
E.G. Eric ... very interesting story. And I wanted to post this already last week: Jason Stackhouse - One Man Army FTW! *snicker*
Warehouse 13 1.01 didn't impress me much, reminds me a lot of the old Friday the 13th tv-series ("Erben des Fluchs" in German).
Watched some minutes of Defying Gravity. It looks good. Will watch the whole pilot soon.
Am also enjoying artes Summer of the 80s.
Am also looking forward to the new Mad Men episodes.
One of my best friends and his girlfriend moved in the last weeks (that's why I had to decline some party invitations recently). They moved to the south of Germany. Quite far away. I can't just pop over for rpg, movie watching or just talking anymore *sniff*.
I've got some days off and will finally have time to post some of my Oxford&London trip pics to LJ & facebook.
Ok, off to bed now. Tomorrow I'll meet
hiyami ^_^

Jul. 29th, 2009 08:06 pmWatching the SDCC Trailer for the Doctor Who x-mas special didn't only make me excited about the characters seen in it, it also made me laugh at the end. Again they gave us a trailer with the doctor walking away from an explosion (or fire?) in slo-mo. Absolutly uber-cool, and hilarious. Hey RTD, the Doctor is not James Bond - although both changed their appearance while remaining the same person since the 60s :-)
I like a good slo-mo-walking-xplosion scene, but you can overdo it. And some guys even made a song about this :D

Jul. 27th, 2009 12:28 amRewatched some episodes of "The secret adventures of Jules Verne" today. I still think it's a good steampunk series and it's very sad that they only had one season. I love the actors. I already knew Michel Courtemanche as comedian on tv, funny guy. Francesca Hunt is an ass-kicking female secret service agent - also looking hot in a 19th century style leather catsuit. ... and then there is Michael Pread as hot headed aristocratic Phileas Fogg ... evoking memories of enthusiastically watching "Robin of Sherwood" as a teenager ^_^
So have some vids to wet the appetite or fondly remember this short lived series with me:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOvMYMJm2zs the vid isn't that interesting, but it uses a song by Michael Pread!

Looks a bit like the scriptwriters read a bit too much John Wyndham ;-) But as I recently found out, by listening to absolutly great audio plays, that you can never have too much Wyndham ^_^ The trailer looks positivly spooky and classic-sci-fi, nice. And of course a big loud 'squee' for the team being back on the small screen!!! *bounce*

Finally we get the Canandian/German/British tv series based on the children novel series The little vampire by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg on DVD in Germany! YAY I loved this series as a kid! The series and films that came afterwards were never as good and true to the book as this one imo.

Watched the second episode of No Heroics today. I love this series!
watch the trailer on youtube
Haven't watched the new True Blood episode yet. I'm starting to like the series. The supporting cast is great, I'm warming up with Anna Paquin as Sookie but I still think they overdo Bill as dark and self-loathing vampire (which I don't remember him being from the novel). Also didn't like the scenes between Sookie and Bill in the first two episodes. I don't remember her being THAT dreamily enthralled with him. Sam is adorable :-) especially him barking in the sleep LOL
Makes me want to continue reading the book series (I want more money!) :-)

I think I spend this evening watching arte . Right now they are showing something about Samuel Beckett (featuring Beckett fan Kevin Spacey) and at midnight they show "Plan 9 from outer space" :-)

Also was war das denn? Mal was anderes. Klasse!
Aber ... also, was soll man da sagen? Das war Tatort meets Das Wunder von Lengede, Krimi meets Katastrophenfilm. Soweit so gut, jedoch ... Also alles in allem ein unbefriedigender Tatort.
