The short film "Dinner for one" is a classic on German tv and shown every new years eve for several decades.

I just saw an "updated" verson on tv with Merkel and Sarkozy pasted into the original video.

So I understood your post better.

And then the next day, some French talk show mentioned the parody, and I told my dad "Knew it, my friend from Germany had mentioned it on her blog".
