I didn't stay up all night (wouldn't make the best impression - first week on the job and already bleary-eyed) to watch the election going on abroad. But I'm glad that Obama won. I don't expect him to live up to all promises and ideals (just look at what getting the power for some years did to our green party) but it is a change in the better direction (especially concerning matters of race in the US of A).
Does anyone know what happened to Proposition 8 in California?

Although absentee ballots still need to be counted, everything points to the proposition being approved (as in: gay marriage will be banned.) :-(
