I think romance is never superfluous in a movie.... the female audience needs a figure they can identify with, to be able to swoon and drool over the hero better! :) 3D movies: I agree with you, in general. It is a new hype, and it does not really add that much to a movie, imo. It only makes movies more expensive. :( And, at least for me, wearing glasses, it is giving you a "confined perspective" at the screen, the quality is not that perfect yet. It feels a bit like watching pics with this ancient Viewmaster, where you have to peep through a small orifice.... you are aware of it very much all the time, it is NOT as if things were going on _around_ you. You are not in the middle of things. Yet. Maybe the technique will improve, but so far, nope, I am not a fan.
